Who belongs to the Wisconsin Business Travel Association?

The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) recognizes the WBTA as its official Chapter for Wisconsin. The WBTA is a non-profit organization. Membership includes Corporate travel executives, Allied members and Travel Management Companies.

WBTA members stay current on the hot topics of today's ever changing world on operational, financial, and industry related issues and information that is critical to the performance or corporations and their travel departments.

 

Progress through Education, Communication and Innovation


The Wisconsin Business Travel Association cordially invites you to join a growing number of progressive business travel professionals, and their firms, in a unified endeavor to promote greater legislative awareness, comprehensive educational programs and a broad spectrum of other activities designed to make an impact on the ever-changing corporate travel industry.

Membership is classifies as follows:


Direct members who, by virtue of their employment, are actively engaged in the procurement of business travel. Direct members are business travel executives from either the government or corporate sectors, directly responsible for managing or procuring travel related services for their firms.

Allied membership represents corporations supplying travel related services such as airlines, limousine or car rental companies, bus or rail companies, hotels or motels, Travel Management Companies, tour companies servicing business travelers, travel related media companies, travel related credit/charge card companies and travel related automation companies.

Honorary Members are recognized by the Board as having rendered distinguished service to the industry or association but are no longer in the travel industry.

Press Members are engaged in the monitoring and reporting of events in the travel industry.

Academic Members are those who educate others or are being educated in the travel industry.

The WBTA offers three disctinct benefits to the business travel professional:


Networking: Our organization provides a rather unique forum for both business travel managers and vendor representatives. Bimonthly meetings offer the opportunity to address potential problems facing the industry while generating an environment conducive to producing practical results.

Education Programs: The Wisconsin Business Travel Association has initiated an on-going endeavor to provide its membership with a series of informative educational programs that focus on developments in technology, management technique, and personal achievement. These programs utilize panel discussions, public speakers, trade shows and specialized presentations.

National Affiliation: As a recognized affiliate of the National Business Travel Association, WBTA has access to travel resources specifically designed to keep business travel professionals abreast of legislative developments and issues regarding safety, service and the future of the corporate travel industry.

Dues


Annual membership dues are $80.00 for Direct Members and $305.00 for Allied Members. There are no membership dues for Honorary, Press, or Academic Members. To maintain a healthy balance of buyers and sellers, new Allied members who wish to join are requested to recruit a new Direct Member to join at the same time.

Volunteer and Leadership Opportunities


All aspects of the WBTA Chapter invite participation, and members are encouraged to become active in all activities to build a stronger Chapter experience.

The following positions are elected by the full membership bi-annually and meet quarterly. All must be active WBTA members to be considered for these positions:
