GBTA-WI Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in the GBTA Wisconsin Chapter Scholarship Program.  The GBTA Wisconsin Chapter is dedicated to providing travel professionals access to educational opportunities, and this year we will be focusing on providing the opportunity for our members to attend the annual GBTA Convention (held in Boston July 15-19, 2017); and/or pay for all access memberships. 

The following is a list of scholarships available with this application. You may apply for more than one scholarship, but will only be awarded up to one GBTA Convention Scholarship and one All Access GBTA Membership Scholarship.

 

  • One (1) GBTA Sponsored 2017 Convention Registration – Allied Member
    • Must not have been to a GBTA Convention since 2013
    • (did not attend 2014 – 2016)
  • One (1) GBTA Sponsored 2017 Convention Registration – Direct Member
    • Must not have been to a GBTA Convention since 2013
    • (did not attend 2014 – 2016)
  • One (1) GBTA Wisconsin Chapter Sponsored 2017 Convention Registration (either Direct/Allied)
    • No restrictions
  • Two (2) $500 All Access GBTA Membership Scholarships
    • $500 to be applied towards a GBTA All Access Membership
    • Can be applied to 2017 or 2018 membership dues
    • If member has already paid for the All Access Membership the funds will be paid/reimbursed to the member’s employer
  • Two (2) $1,500 Family Member General Education Scholarships
  • One (1) $1,000 Family Member General Education Scholarship
    • Paid directly to the continuing education school or college
    • Must be used within two years of accepting the scholarship award

 

All GBTA-WI scholarships are awarded on a merit basis, with the recipient recognized as developing a superior education/professional development plan.

  • Preference for the GBTA Convention Scholarships and All Access Memberships will be given to members that have never attended GBTA Convention, or have not attended in years.

  • Preference for Family Member General Education Scholarships are based on:
    • Awards, accomplishments and honors
    • Community involvement, extracurricular or other related activities
    • Statement of career objectives/what the applicant is going to school for
    • Personal endorsement from a teacher, or non-family member, highlighting why the applicant is deserving the scholarship

Scholarships will be announced at the May 10, 2017 GBTA Wisconsin Chapter.

If interested in one or more of the scholarships, please complete all forms and requirements and send to Elizabeth Dressel by Monday, April 24, 2017.  Applications arriving after that date will not be considered.
